Polaris is a star in the northern circumpolar constellation of Ursa Minor and is famous for holding nearly still in our vast night sky. While the entire northern sky spins around it, Polaris located almost exactly at the north celestial pole, the center of spin, stays in the same place and has been aligned above the North Pole for over two millennials.
